Students of Benue State Polytechnic, Ugbokolo have cried out over attempts by the management to defraud them.
According to them, HND 2 students of the institution, after paying the stipulated N5,000 were asked by the management to pay another N7,000 with the explanation that the monies previously paid had been embezzled by some top management staff.
“We formally paid N5,000 for registration. Along the line on Tuesday last week the management brought out a secular that the N5,000 we paid before, that some persons in the top management has spend the money, that we should pay another N7,000 again.” narated a student who pleaded anonymity.
This development is reported to be causing huge tension in the school as the over 1,000 students involved have vowed to resist the move and are planning a protest.
“We the students want the state government to do some thing about it before it will get out of hand.” Another student said.
